359,892. Aircraft wing structures. NAVARRO, J. G. and NAVARRO, M. A., 21, Berrylands Road, Surbiton, Surrey. June 27, 1930, No. 19664. [Class 4.] Aeroplane wings of the type having separately constructed leading and/or trailing edge portions and/or wing tips have the ribs 2, Fig. 1, of the central portion of the wing extending outwardly beyond the longitudinal spars 1 and the ribs 31, 41, of the leading and/or trailing edge portions 3, 4, which may be of any desired width, extending inwardly beyond the spars 1, the ribs of the several portions interpenetrating. The ribs 3<1>, 4<1> are secured to the spars 1 and may if required be secured to ribs 2. The portions 3, 4 may be separately assembled on longitudinal spars before attachment to the spars 1 or the ribs 3<1>, 4<1>, may be first secured and the outer covering applied when they are in position. An upturned wing tip is separately constructed and comprises principal ribs 5, shaped as shown in either of Figs. 3 or 4, intermediate ribs and cross bracing. The principal ribs 5 correspond in number to the spars 1 and are attached to I-section spars as shown in Fig. 3 and to box spars as in Fig. 4.
