Abstract

357,162. Aircraft wings. NAVARRO, J. G. and NAVARRO, M. A., 21, Berrylands Road, Surbiton, Surrey. June 14, 1930, No. 18304. [Class 4.] An aeroplane wing having an inswept trailing edge c<1> at the root in combination with a swept-back rear edge at the outer portion of the wing is constructed with a swept-back spar 10. The wing is transversely horizontal. The spar 10 is pivoted to the fuselage at 11 to enable the wing and its bracing 13, 14 to be folded parallel to the fuselage after a flap c has been folded over the top of the wing. The bracing 13, 14 is pivoted to the fuselage at a point vertically beneath the point 11. The main part of the wing a is connected by a releasable bolt h to a fixed stub-wing e. The gap shown between the flap c and a wing tip g is occupied by an aileron. The tip g is upwardly inclined or the inner portion of the tip may be inclined downwards and the rest of the tip upwards. Specification 295,114, [Class 4, Aeronautics], is referred to.
