467,357. Aircraft wings; airscrews. CHARPENTIER, J. F. G. M. L. March 23, 1936, No. 8644. Convention date, March 2, 1936. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 23, 1936.] Drawings to Specification. [Classes 4 and 114] An aeroplane wing or airscrew is provided with a narrow conical tip or tips extending in a direction contrary to the normal direction of motion of the wing or tip. In one form, the curvature of the leading and trailing edges of the wings is such that they meet at the wing tips in rearwardly directed points parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aeroplane. The trailing edge may be so arranged between engine nacelles which may form partitional fins. When the invention is applied to an aeroplane having a single fuselage the tail-plane and tailfin may be similarly constructed and the trailing edges of the wings may be faired into the fuselage side or arranged to leave rearwardly directed points on either side of the fuselage.
