Abstract
279,458. Rohrback Metall-Flugzeugbau Ges. Oct. 21, 1926, [Convention date. Aeroplanes; nacelles; propelling; guns, disposition of; lighting.-In monoplanes provided with at least three engines each driving a screw arranged symmetrically in relation to the central longitudinal plane of the aircraft, the engines are housed wholly or a part in the wing roots themselves with pusher screws close to the trailing edges of the wings e. The engines are housed in short nacelles with propellers closely adjacent thereto, the lateral engines being provided with pusher screws d and the central engine having a tractor screw c. The upper part k, Fig. 3, of the nacelle is parallel to the wing chord m and merges into the end wall n which terminates in front of the boss of the screw d. The lower surface o is convex and has a long tapered portion connected to the under surface of the leading edge of the wing. A machine gun q and a search light p may be mounted on the leading edges of the wings. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also seaplanes provided with engines housed in short nacelles and having pusher screws the nacelles being mounted on struts rising above the wings. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
