437,447. Aeroplanes modified for vertical flight. FUJIMOTO, B., 6, 3-chome, Kagura-cho, Ushigome-ku, Tokio. April 26, 1934, No. 12678. Convention date, May 23, 1933. [Class 4] In an aeroplane comprising a wing extending from each side of the fuselage, each of the wings include fixed parts 2 and movable parts 1 carrying the propelling mechanism and provided at their trailing edges with movable flaps 11 which may be adjusted so that due to aerodynamic forces the movable parts may be adjusted from a horizontal to a vertical position. Stop pins 7 and 8 and beams 4 limit movement of the movable parts. Axles 6, which may be inclined to one another, of the parts 1, may be situated, at about three-tenths of the length of the chord from the leading edge, or to the rear of and below the centre of gravity of the parts 1, or in front of and above the centre of gravity of the fixed parts of the machine.
