Abstract
272,455. Dornier, C., and Dornier Metallbauten Ges. June 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Steering and balancing.-To vary the airflow over an aeroplane wing for varying the flight speed or for steering, flaps b normally lying flush with the wing surface are pivoted at their edges about transverse axes away from the leading edge of the wing and are movable separately or simultaneously into the airstream. The flaps may be arranged along the upper surface or along both surfaces of the wing, or two flaps may be arranged at sensitive places, one a short dis. tance behind the leading edge on the lower surface and the other on the upper surface a short distance forward of the trailing edge.
