Abstract
357,247. Light aeroplanes. NAVARRO, J. G. and NAVARRO, M. A., 21, Berrylands Road, Surbiton, Surrey. June 20, 1930, No. 18893. [Class 4.] A light aircraft such as an aeroplane with folding wings is fitted with three engines having an aggregate power not greater than 180 nominal B.H.P. and of a maximum aggregate weight not greater than 360 pounds. The engines may be A.B.C. "Scorpions." As shown in the Figure, two side engines are carried on the undercarriage and attached to a stub plane, or they may be carried by the undercarriage and by struts from the fuselage. Alternatively all three engines may be mounted on structures attached to the top of the plane; or two side engines may be attached by fittings to the fuselage or wings and in the latter case may fold with the wings. The wings fold back about hinges b after flaps a have been folded over the top of the wings. Specification 357,162 is referred to.
