Abstract
456,632. Aircraft alighting gear. AEROPLANES MORANE-SAULNIER SOC. ANON. DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES, 3, Rue Volta, Puteaux, Seine, France. March 20, 1936, No. 8350. Convention date, March 22, 1935. [Class 4] Aircraft landing-gear comprises three struts pivoted at fixed points to the aeroplane, the outer ends of the struts being connected together, one of the struts being jointed such that folding of the jointed strut 11 causes the landing-gear to pivot with respect to the aeroplane ; the jointed strut is controlled to fold and straighten by a fluid-actuated jack 13 entirely supported by the strut 11 and disposed at right angles to the line of the strut when in the straightened position, the three struts constituting a pyramidal structure adapted to be folded in any direction depending upon which strut is the jointed strut. The two parts of the strut 11 may be articulated on either side of the jack cylinder, or the jack may be mounted at the common point of articulation. The jack is further connected to the strut 11 by links 16 and in one form two of the struts are pivoted about a spindle 20. Specification 442,133 is referred to.
