Abstract

359,218. Hinges. ADAMS, J. S., 3, Emerald Street, London. Oct. 28, 1930, No. 32410. [Class 65 (ii).] A concealed hinge for doors and the like has an arcuate arm 2 on a plate 1 fixed in a recess in the support 5, and a pair of lugs 7 on a plate 8 in a recess in the edge of the door 3. The hinge pin 6 is thus set back from the abutting edges of the door and the support. The part 3b of the door extends beyond the end of the arm 2 and is shaped to fit into the concavity of the arm when the door is open. To enable the pin 6 to be fitted and removed, a channel is formed in the edge of the door and is normally filled by a removable wedge 12.
