Abstract

464,933. Hinges. AUSTIN, C. B. Nov. 25, 1935, No. 32570. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge, particularly for a window 28 rebated to overlap the frame 32, comprises two cranked leaves 16, 22 arranged to lie in register one above the other and each having a knuckle engaging the hinge pin 10, each knuckle being offset from that limb of the leaf on which it is formed on the opposite side to the other limb so that one side of the knuckle lies in the same plane as the limb carrying it. The leaves are identical except that the holes for the attaching screws are countersunk on opposite sides. The hinge pin may be removable, or may be fixed in one knuckle or riveted over at each end. British Specification 11515/04, [Class 65], and U.S.A. Specification 1,821,606 are referred to.
