Abstract
357,531. Spray carburetters. PARR, G. W., Loampit Hill House, Lewisham, London. May 23, 1930, No. 15956. [Class 7 (iii).] A device adapted to inject additional fuel through the nozzle f upon opening of the throttle e to accelerate, and to retard the flow of fuel upon closing of the throttle, comprises a chamber 1 divided by a flexible diaphragm 4 into compartments 2, 3, of which 2 communicates through a nipple 6 with the induction pipe b on the engine side of the throttle and 3, according to the invention, communicates through a tube 7 with the air-space c of the float chamber a. The diaphragm is loaded by a spring 10 which tends to press it against an adjustable stop 11. The float chamber air-space is open to the atmosphere through a vent 12 in the cover d.
