Abstract

357,289. Hinged sliding sashes. MUIR, J. C., 27, High Street, Carluke, and LOUDON, R., 57, Main Street, Cleland, both in Lanarkshire. July 2, 1930, No. 20034. [Class 20 (iii).] Windows of the kind having a sliding sash with eyelets adapted to engage pins on the frame and to hinge thereon are characterized by the provision of rabbeted stiles by which a stop is formed for the lower sash. A detachable sash-cord fastening comprises a recessed channel member O on the cord and a pivoted plate Q thereon having recesses R, S. A pin U on the sash normally engages the members O and recess R, and when the sash is withdrawn the plate Q is rotated and the recess S engages one limb of a staple V fixed to the frame to retain the cord. When the sash is closed the pin U engages the recess R and rotates the plate out of engagement with the staple.
