459,981. Doors. SNARE, E., 174, Streatham Road, Mitcham, Surrey, and CASTON & CO., Ltd., Tabard Street, Borough, London. Feb. 19, 1936, No. 5031. [Class 20 (iii)] [See also Group I] A collapsable door or shutter comprises a series of rigid sheets 41 hinged together about parallel axes so as to open with the sheets face to face and back to back, a lazy-tongs 48 with pivots parallel to the door hinges being provided at the upper end of the door so that at all stages of opening or closing, the sheets are equally inclined to the general plane of the door. The end stile 47 at the free edge of the door has a perpendicular extension 56 at its upper end, provided with rollers 57 adapted to run between guide tracks during the opening and closing of the door. The sheets 41 have extensions 43 covering the hinges to render the door fire proof and to limit the extension of the door. The sheets may themselves constitute one set of lazy - tong members. The lazy - tongs may have lateral extensions which move into flame tight engagement when closed. A stop rail may be fitted with which extensions of the sheet hinges engage to limit the extension of the door.
