Abstract
356,382. Coin-freed apparatus. WEST, A. J. and GAS METER CO., Ltd., 238, Kingsland Road, Bethnal Green, London. July 14, 1930, No. 21324. [Class 27.] Coin action, mechanical-connection and multiplecoin.-In order to render a prepayment mechanism of the kind described in Specification 304,523, [Class 27, Coin-freed apparatus &c.], adjustable for coins of different denomination, the coin holder is provided with a screw a, Fig. 1, on which is slidably mounted a collar b carrying two arms c, d provided with pins e, f respectively. When the holder is to be adjusted to take a shilling as against a penny, for example, the collar is moved so that the pins e, f enter respectively holes g, j, Fig. 3, in the coin holder and in the pivoted member k, which is moved bv the coin on rotation of the coinholder into engagement with a toothed wheel, and thereby reduce the effective radial dimensions of the coin slot. The arm d is pivoted to the collar b so as to allow the member k to be rocked by the coin. The arm c also may be pivoted. The collar b is retained in either of its two positions by a spring clip n which is sprung over the screw a at either side of the collar.
