[Class 27.] Coin action, thrust and with delivery proportionate to value of coin.-Coin holder mechanism for prepayment meters operable without adjustment by pennies and shillings and especially applicable to the mechanism described in Specification 392,530, comprises a striker plate g, as shown in the Figure, which, when a shilling is inserted, has imparted to it a sliding movement towards the axis of the coin holder a, while on the insertion of a penny, it has imparted to it a pivotal movement in addition to the sliding movement. The sliding movement causes a tooth g<4> at one end of the plate to engage and rotate rogether two quantity wheels h, i, and the additional pivotal movement causes a tooth g<5> at the other end to engage and rotate the wheel h only. The plate g has a slot g<1>, g<3> which guides its movements and engages over a pin g<2> fixed to the holder a. The plate is connected by pins a4, a<9> to a coin table or slide a<1> located with the holder a for engagement by a coin thrust through coin slots in a pricechange disc c and a disc b which carries the holder a and is rotated by a handle f. The pin a4 works in a pair of slots a<5> in the sides of the holder a, each slot comprising a straight portion a<6> and a curved portion a<7>. The pin a<9> works in a pair of short slots a<8> and, when a penny is inserted, constitutes the pivot about which the slide a<1> and plate g rotate. When a shilling is used, the pins a<4>, a<9> slide in the slots a<6>, a<8> only. When a coin is discharged, a spring a<2> returns the parts a<1>, g to their initial position in the holder a.
