Fraud, preventing; coin - slit closing - de. vices. - A fraud-pre. venting device for coin-freed mechanism having a rotary coin. holder and a coin-slot formed in a stationary plate, especially pre. payment gas and similar meters, com. prises a plate f ex. tending across a stationary adjustable price-change disc c provided with a coin-slot c' and forming a bearing for the stem d of the handle of the rotary coinholder. The plate f is pivoted to the plate c at a point g opposite to the coin-slot c<1> with respect to the axis d, and has an arm f<1> provided with a projection f<2> adapted to bear on a cam disc d' on the stem d. When the coin-slot is open, the projection f<2> enters a recess d<2> in the cam disc, but immediately the handle is turned the disc d' causes the plate f to cover the slot. The arm f<1> with the plate f forms a recess which encloses the cam-disc d'.
