Abstract

349,583. Band-conveyer drying apparatus. PANZIREFF, N., 9, Sretenka, Moscow. Nov. 26, 1929, No. 36177. [Class 34 (ii).] The drying air is forced by a fan 7 over the flue tubes 2 of a furnace and through graded openings 9 into the drying-chamber from which it is exhausted through graded openings 9a into a chamber 5a connected to a duct 5 which communicates either with the fan 7 for recirculation or the exhaust shaft 11 around the furnace chimney or both, according to the position of a damper 10. The material is fed through preheating duct 5 into the drying-chamber by a conveyer band and, after passing through the chamber on the bands 4, is discharged at the same end of the apparatus at which it entered. In a modification, the chamber 5a communicates with an exhaust duct arranged at the side of the apparatus and connected with the furnace chamber, a part of the air being diverted if desired into a fresh-air duct arranged beneath the drying-chamber.
