Abstract
349,191. Rotary compressors. SOLLORS. W. H. and GREEN, R. C. C., 12, Cherry Street, and TARRANT, H. W. R., 81, Lyndon Road, Olton, both in Birming- ham. March 18, 1930, No. 8613. [Class 110 (ii).] Fixed-abutment type ; regulating. - A rotary pump of the outwardlysliding vane type which has rings for taking the centrifugal thrust on the vanes, has annular chambers at each end of the pump in which angularly-adjustable rings 1 contain either inlet or outlet ports 7. Either ring may be adjusted after removing the pump end covers, and fixed in position by means of a dowel pin 6 which is secured to a projection on the ring 1 and which engages in one of a series of holes 5 drilled in the pump casing. In a modified arrangement the ring 1 has teeth formed on its periphery which mesh with a pinion screwed to the pump casing. The pinion has flats formed on its side so that it can be rotated by a spanner after removal of an end cover of the pump. The end wall of the pump may be marked off in divisions or degrees for reading off the position of the ported ring by mean of a zero mark on the ring.
