Abstract

339,021. Sollors, W. H., Green, R. C. C., and Tarrant, H. W. R. Sept. 18, 1929. Fixed-abutment type; valve gear and valveactuating mechanism.-In a rotary pump of the outwardly sliding vane type the sizes of the inlet and delivery ports 9 and 10 are varied to suit working conditions by means of rotatable sleeve valves 12 and 13 which co-operate with the inlet and delivery. A toothed wheel 16 which turns the sleeve 12 through teeth 15 may be either hand or governor controlled. The inlet and delivery are placed on diametrically opposite sides of the pump, but their positions may be varied. The blades 5 are fitted with restraining rings which take the centrifugal thrust on the rings.
