Abstract
342,262. Centrifugal governors. JUNKERS, H., 21, Kaiserplatz, Dessau, Anhalt, Germany. Oct. 15, 1929, No. 31302. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1928. [Class 57.] Centrifugal governors for controlling the fue supply to Diesel engines are constructed so that the degree of irregu larity (that is, the amount by which the engine speed when idling and when under full load varies from the working speed for which the governor is set) increases considerably when the governor is set for low speeds. This is effected by designing the governor so that the ratio of the radial distances of the governor bobs from the axis for idling and full load respectively is at least equal to 1 : 4. In the form shown, the governor balls 3 are free to move redially between a flat disc 4 and a conical disc 5, which is subjected to the pressure of a spring 7 and connected by a lever 15 to an adjusting member on the fuel pump. The spring 7 is adjusted by a screw 10 actuated by a rack and pinion 12, 13.
