341,919. Road vehicle opening tops. GREENING, G., 13, St. Phillips Road, Stratton, RUCKLEY, S. F., Verwood, Whitworth Road, RUSHAN, R. M., 43, William Street, and BEE, G. J., 107, Broad Street, all in Swindon, Wiltshire. Oct. 23, 1929, No. 32132. [Class 108 (i).] A sliding roof for a vehicle of type in which a centrally situated roof opening is closed by two panels sliding in channel tracks fixed to the roof, is operated by right- and left-handed screws so that the panels can be simultaneously adjusted to any position. The panels are arranged to carry luggage, the luggage rails acting as stiffeners for the panels. As shown two sliding panels f, g carried on channellings e are mounted on rollers d which run in channel tracks b fixed to the roof. The sliding panels are operated by nuts carried on hangars k secured to the sliding panels, which nuts engage right- and left-handed screws k<1> which are operated by a handle through bevel wheels k<2>, k3, k<5>, k<6>. In order that the arrangement may be applicable to roofs with longitudinal camber the hangars k have vertical slots k<10>, Fig. 5, allowing the nuts to move vertically.
