Abstract
205,397. London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., and Shave, G. J. July 15,1922. Sides and roofs.-In a two-deck road vehicle for passengers and of the type having a covered-in upper deck and side windows, the top, comprising the roof 10, Figs. 1 and 6, and windows 13, 14, is carried by uprights 11 mounted on horizontal members 18 which are adapted to be detachably secured by projecting members 22 to rails 21 forming a permanent part of the vehicle body, so that the top may be removed as a single unit leaving front supports 27, Fig. 2, and windows 26 in position. The horizontal joint between the roof 10 and the front windows 26 is made weathertight by providing the roof with a downwardlydirected front face. The window 26 may be detachably mounted on the body, and the win. dows 19 are adapted to slide on detachable or other runners 19 in front of the windows 14 which may be detachably secured to the framework. When the top is removed, a hand-rail 23 is secured to the rail 21 by projecting members which correspond to the projecting members 22.
