Abstract

341,204. Cast metal boats. BIRMINGHAM ALUMINIUM CASTING (1903), CO., Ltd. and PRITCHARD, P., Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, Staffordshire. Nov. 22, 1929, No. 35755. [Class 113 (ii).] Metal boats are cast in aluminium or light metal alloys in longitudinal sections which meet in an inturned longitudinal flange b, Fig. 4, which in the case of a hydroplane vessel is doubled at the step p, Fig. 6, and becomes an external flange c at the cutwater. The sections are united by riveting or welding. Longitudinal strakes g, f, and gunwale e are also provided. A separate transom j bears against internal flanges on the ends of the sections and is provided with stiffeners k for the support of an outboard motor.
