Hoods.-In removable hoods the cover is provided at each edge with a rubber or like beading of curved or angle section so as to provide a downwardly depending sealing lip as well as forming a stiffener for the cover. An upstanding rubber &c. rib may be provided on the fixed part of the roof to coact with the beading to exclude weather and draughts. As shown a rubber beading g is provided at each edge of the cover e which is carried by cross-sticks c. A rubber rib m with an outstanding flange touching the beading is mounted on the cant rail band has a flange underlying the guide rail d. Folder strips p of metal may be provided as in Specification 297,488 and short ribs r may be secured to the cover e to assist folding. The two front cross sticks may be connected by a flexible metal plate s which arches when the cover is folded and presses the cover against the luggage carrier u. Specification 320,192 also is referred to.
