297,609. Standard Motor Co., Ltd., and Maudslay, R. W. Dec. 20, 1927. Hoods. - In road vehicles of the kind provided with a hatch adapted to close a roof opening the hatch carries outwardly facing lined channels 10 engaging rails attached to the fixed part 3 of the roof and provided with inwardly projecting flanges 7, a cover plate 12 being secured to the hatch 8 and adapted to exclude the weather. The channels 10 are carried by wooden strips 9 attached to the hatch and the rails 5, 6, 7 are carried by strips 4 on the fixed roof part 3. Closure at the rear of the hatch is obtained by means of a rubber &c. strip 15 carried by a strip 13 on the hatch 8 adapted to contact with a strip 14 on the roof. Closure at the front part is provided by means of a strip 19 having a rubber &c. member 20 adapted to contact with a wooden channel member 17. Drainage holes 25 are provided.
