945,571. Vehicle opening roofs. AUSTIN MOTOR CO. Ltd. Nov. 14, 1962 [Sept. 20, 1961], No. 33632/61. Heading B7B. [Also in Division E2] A vehicle saloon body has a flexible cover 3 fixed to the rear edge of a roof opening 2 and detachably secured to the side and front edges by a sliding clasp fastener 4 having two sliders 7 which are held together in the closed position of the cover by a manually operated clamp, Fig. 3, not shown. Two or more pliable bars 19 in pockets 20 in cover 3, bear through rubber blocks 21 on a rubber edging strip 17 when the cover is in the closed position. Tabs on the cover have studs which are engaged in sockets in sliders 7 when the cover is rolled in a partly open position. The sliding clasp fastener may be mounted internally of the vehicle.
