Abstract

424,448. Vehicle opening tops. BISHOP, W. H., 48, Moor Street, Birmingham. Jan. 20, 1934, No. 2030. [Class 108 (i)] In vehicles of the type in which a roof panel is adapted, when opened, to slide under the fixed part or canopy the panel is adapted to slide directly between the fixed canopy and the sides and bottom surfaces of the usual guides at each side of the roof, longitudinal strips of felt, &c. being secured to the underside of the canopy and felt, &c. pads being secured to the underside of the rear edges or corners of the panel. Strips d of felt are secured to the under-surface of the fixed canopy by tongues f stamped out of the material of the canopy b and pads e are secured at the rear corners of the panel a to contact with angle strips h secured to the sides of the roof. The rear edge of the panel may be guided, in addition, on D-shaped guides formed on the strips h by means of grooves and the panel is brought up flush with the canopy b by means of ramps c when the panel is in the closed position.
