Abstract

1,116,996. Edging strip for covered roofs. C. A. C. ENGINEERING Ltd. 10 May, 1967 [12 July, 1966; 5 Oct., 1966], Nos. 31261/66 and 44512/66. Heading E1W. A roof edging strip comprises an open channel of substantially U-shaped cross-section, the inner side wall 12 of which carries, along its upper edge, a flange 14 directed away from the channel and adapted to be secured upon the roof surface, the lower part of the channel also being provided with an auxiliary rib extending beneath the flange 14. The rib 18 may be coplanar with the channel base 16 or may be directed obliquely upwards from the bottom of a downward extension of the channel outer side wall, Fig. 3 (not shown). Grooves 26 and ribs 28 key with asphalt applied over the roof and in the channel. Adjacent similar strips may be connected by an internally fitted channel shaped splicing member, Figs. 2 and 4 (not shown). The strip can be dimensioned to make it suitable for use with laminated felt roofing.
