Abstract

338,263. Telefonaktiebolaget L. M. Ericsson. Oct. 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Thermionic generators.-A frequency-changing circuit comprises two valves 1, 1<1> with anodes 2, 2<1> in parallel and grids 3, 3<1>, fed by two fundamental frequencies w1, w2, in push-pull, and the reaction on the grids, caused by the loading of the anode circuit by circuits 7, 8 tuned to frequencies 2w1, 2w2, w1 + w2, w1-w2, is compensated or eliminated. The reaction is compensated by coils 9 coupled to the tuned circuits and connected between a grid-bias battery 6 and the halves of the impedance 11, 11' in the grid circuit. Alternatively the reaction is eliminated by the use of screened-grid valves. As shown the second fundamental frequency is obtained by coils 12, 12<1> coupled to one of the tuned circuits and each connected in series with half of the grid impedance. The grid-bias voltage is negative and equal to 1/Á of the constant anode potential.
