Abstract

Tents; portable buildings.-A frame for a portable building is formed of horizontally telescopic jointed rods 9 joined by vertically telescopic rods 8 and inclined stay-bars. A roof 12 is provided with hinged side flaps 15 and is supported on vertical uprights 11 carried on the cross rods 10 on the frame. Inclined telescopic side coverplates 18 joined by sliding strips 21 and triangular corner-plates 19 are hung on to the top rods of the framework and supported at their outer ends by upright stanchions 23, and the pivoted side flaps on the tent top act as flashings for the side extensions. A side curtain 24 forms the finishing closure for the tent. The triangular corner portions 19 may be combined to form a small pyramidal tent, as shown in Fig. 6.
