Abstract

535,101. Portable buildings. JANES, H. C. Oct. 20, 1939, No. 28347. [Class 20 (i)] , A portable building comprises pentagonal open frameworks spaced apart by upper and lower longitudinal members attached to the upright members of the frames, the members of the frames being slotted at each end to receive interconnecting gusset members, and removable panels secured to the frameworks. Each pentagonal framework comprises a base member 1, uprights 2, and inclined roof-members 3, meeting at a ridge, the members each having slotted ends to receive gusset plates such as 5 connected by bolts to the members and provided with curved projecting edges. The frameworks are erected at spaced positions and connected together by longitudinals 10 at the floor level on each side and by a ridge member 12. The spaces between the frames are filled in by framed members each formed of a surrounding frame 18 with sunken panels 19, 20 on each side, the panels being arranged so that their grains are disposed at right angles. Some of the panels may be formed with window and door frames. The floor 15 is supported by joists 14 disposed across the frame members 1.
