Abstract

542,229. Shelters for aircraft. TEES SIDE BRIDGE & ENGINEERING WORKS, Ltd., and HODGSON, S. D. June 26, 1940, No. 10928. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] A lattice building unit for constructing hangars and the like, comprises channel section booms 10 connected by bracing bars 12 also of channel section, the ends of which fill the channels in the boom members and are riveted thereto, flange to flange. The units are connected together, end to end, to form the uprights and cross members of frame structures, triangular section connecting members 16 and 18 being interposed at the eaves and ridge respectively. The frame members are inter-connected on the outsides by purlins 21 connected by diagonal bars 25 to the bottom boom of each frame and on the insides by connectors 28. The two end frames at each end are interconnected by horizontal and inclined bars 29, 35 respectively which support at their outer ends upnght bars 34 carrying brackets 33 on which are supported the end door frames 36.
