Abstract
478,484. Metal roofs. KRUPP AKT.- GES., F. June 4, 1937, No. 15526. Convention date, June 22, 1936. [Class 20 (iv)] A roof comprises parallel trusses 2 constructed without upper and lower booms, and a metal skin 1 which extends alternately between the upper edges of adjacent trusses and between the lower edges thereof, so that alternate roof surfaces are at different levels. The metal skin 1 is subdivided into individual strips which are each of a width equal to the distance between adjacent trusses and are attached by welding, riveting, or other means, to the vertical and diagonal members 4, 15 constituting the trusses 2. The skin 1 is relied upon to take the place of the absent booms of the trusses. The upper and lower edges' of the trusses 2 are interconnected by beams 3 which are connected in pairs by the vertical members 4 of the trusses 2 and by diagonal struts 5. Windows or ventilation openings may be provided in the trusses 2. The metal skin 1 may be corrugated or ribbed.
