Tents; portable buildings.-A col. lapsable frame for a tent or other structure is formed with sides of collapsable trellis work 5 the top edges of which are fixed when expanded by horizontal braces 1 and the ends of the several sections are connected together by corner blocks 3 through which bolts 7 are passed. The side walls are covered by a single piece of fabric wrapped round having a hem at the top through which laths are passed and bolted to the top of the framework. The lower edges of the fabric are turned up and sewn to form sand pockets. A roof-piece 9 sewn to the cover 6 is thrown over the lower-ridge and fastened at the front. A second ridge 12 together with front and back laths 2 carries a second roof covering extending beyond the sides of the framework. Cords 5a at each corner fastened to an outside and an inside stake in the ground hold the frame in position. In large tents the fly or outer roof 10 may have its eaves projecting in front of the walls. This construction may be used for temporary buildings, sheet iron and fibrous plaster sheets or other material being nailed on the outside, while the brace' laths would act as top plates for carrying rafters from the ridge.
