Abstract

804,554. Portable buildings. OBRADOVIC, R. March 12, 1956 [April 5, 1955], No. 7651/56. Class 20(1) A collapsible frame for a tent &c. is built up of tubes 1, 2, 3 connected together by spring catches 25 in short tubes 26, Fig. 8, the tubes &c. then being connected to tubular corner brackets 4, 5, 6 to complete the main frame. The canvas cover is then added and secured to the frame by a sewn-on cord 12 and a T-piece 13 engaged in the loop. The frame however may be provided with extensions as follows. The canvas roof may extend beyond the gable ends, being supported by the arm 14a, Fig. 3, of a bracket 14 secured by a pin 15 to each end of the ridge. An additional piece 10a of roof canvas may be held out beyond the eaves by the arms 16b, Fig. 11, of a bracket placed on top of the wall and roof cover canvas and secured to the inside cover bracket by a pin 15. The arms 16b fit into pockets in the canvas piece 10a thereby stretching it out beyond the wall canvas. A frame extension for an awning or porch at a gable end entrance is in Fig. 12 (not shown). A double roof may be provided by the frame in Fig. 13 or 14 (not shown). Fig. 15 (not shown) shows the frame for a simpler double roof. Fig. 18 (not shown) shows a frame providing double walls and roof to contain an insulating air space all over with the detail corners as in Figs. 19 and 20 (not shown).
