Abstract

753,183. Tents. JONSSON, C. F. Aug. 11, 1954 [Aug. 29, 1953], No. 23344/54. Class 20(1). A tent framework comprises corner poles 1 each having one end of a resilient rib 2 pivotally connected to it, the pole extending above the pivot point to form a stop for the rib. The other end of the rib is connected to a ring 5 secured to a lower outer ring 6 and is prevented from swinging upwardly beyond the position shown in Fig. 4 by its abutment with the ring 6. To erect the tent, Fig. 2, after positioning the poles in the ground, the ring unit 5, 6 is pushed upwardly and the poles and ribs are pressed outwardly against the cloth 7 which is secured to the poles by elastic straps 9. The tent is self-supporting but stays 8 may be provided. The framework may be sewn into the tent cloth and the straps dispensed with.
