Abstract

1502357 Umbrella tent F H MAIKEN 29 Sept 1975 39748/75 Heading E1A A self-locking unbrella tent has ribs comprising a main section 22 pivoted at one end to a flange on support member 12 and having a brace 34 pivoted intermediate its ends, and an extension rib section 60 pivoted to fold from an aligned position through 180‹ to a side-by-side position and being dimensioned so that, when partially unfolded the extension ribs define the ground dimensions of the tent and may be secured to the ground before completing erection. The hub 40 connected to stays 34 passes a dead-centre position before engaging a stop on the support member 12. A window (Fig. 16) comprises a flap 92 having slide fasteners 94 and may be held open for ventilation by a peg 102 engaging an eye 100 in the flap, the other end being located in a grommet 106 and guided and held by cord 116 and pin 120. The length of the peg 102 is such that it cannot swing upwards at its outer end.
