Abstract
703,111. Struts ; collapsible shelter frames. SMITH & CO. (LONDON), Ltd., J., [formerly SMITH & CO. (LONDON, E.), Ltd., J.], and SMITH, Sir, J. J. Sept. 29, 1952 [Sept. 28, 1951], No. 22703/51. Classes 20 (1) and 20 (2). [Also in Group XXV] A strut, e.g. for use in collapsible shelters, comprises two tubular members 1, 2 each having one end flattened and apertured for securing to parts of a structure, one member 2 having a spigoted end 9 which engages in a socket 12 secured at a short distance from the other end of the member 1 which near this end is provided with a hole 13 receiving a radial pin 10 secured on the member 2 at a corresponding distance from the end 9. A yoke 11 on the end of the member 1 engages over the member 2. The pin 10 may be headed in which case the hole 13 may be a key-hole slot.
