Abstract

511,411. Tents. KOBI, S. Feb. 28, 1939, No. 6604. [Class 20 (i)] A collapsable framework for a tent comprises lazy-tongs members 4, 5, one series of arms 4 being connected to a central carrier 1 to which a rod 2 is attached, a second carrier 3, slidably mounted on the rod 2, being connected to the other series of arms 5. The rod 2 is pivoted at its lower end with a handle 8, and the framework is extended and collapsed by moving the carrier 3 along the rod 2 respectively towards and away from the carrier 1. Slots 7 are formed in some of the members 4, 5, in order that the frame members may take up an arcuate formation when extended. The tent fabric 6 is permantly or detachably secured to rings provided at the joints of the frame members. The framework is anchored by forks or pegs driven into the ground and engaging the ends of the frame members.
