773,302. Tents. AVIEZER, Z., and RAPOPORT, Y. Oct. 12, 1955 [Nov. 5, 1954], No. 29090/55. Class 20(1) The framework of a ridge tent comprises two elements each consisting of a ridge member 1, preferably of round metal rod, and two legs 2 connected by a plate 4. The member 1 has an eye 1<SP>1</SP> in which is secured a pin 5 the outer ends of which pivot in eyes 6 formed in the plate 4. The legs pivot in a plane parallel to the plane of the plate on studs 7 and in their splayed erected position engage each other at their upper ends which are recessed at 8<SP>1</SP> for engagement with a stud 8. The legs may be provided with discs to increase the stability of the tent on sandy terrain and may have holes to receive pegs 10. The ridge members 1 are united by a sleeve 3 or they may be telescoping tubes. Hammocks may be suspended from hooks 11 provided on the legs which may themselves be folding. The tent canvas may have a hem of considerable width to form a sheath into which the folded framework parts may be slid when transporting the tent in its dismantled condition.
