Abstract
919,044. Walking aids. THOMAS, A. June 20, 1961 [June 21, 1960], No. 21638/60. Class 132 (1). A walking aid comprises two spaced frame members a providing two hand grips d, each frame having an upstanding limb, the upstanding limbs being connected by cross-members b which are pivoted on the limbs so that the two frames may be pivoted to be adjacent to each other in a folded position or opened to a position in which they are substantially parallel one to the other. The cross-members b have at each end a T-shaped collar h which rotates on frame member a. The upper collars are urged by a spring between the collar h and a fixed collar h1 to engage a pin e on the member a in a slot in the collar in the operative position of the frame members. Lifting the upper member b disengages the collars from the pins and allows rotation of the frame members a to the folded position.
