Abstract

1,070,717. Fore-booms. J. DERKENNE. March 7, 1966 [March 5, 1965], No. 9857/66. Heading B7V. In a fore-boom made up of telescopic elements (1, 2, Fig. 1, not shown), fixed together by a pin (5) that can be fitted as desired in one of a series of equidistant aligned holes (6-12) in the elements, the pin is carried on a slightly elastic strip (4) fixed on a ring (3) at the female end of each element. The fore-boom is secured in or around a sleeve (23) of an end-piece (22) formed with a hook (24) for receiving the eye (21) on a ring or collar (20) fixed to the mast. The hook opening can be blocked by a spring- loaded movable part (25) whose end, and the hook (at 30) are so shaped (to form a dihedral 31) that when the eye (21) enters the hook opening the movable part moves to allow the hook to pass through.-
