[Also in Divisions B4 and E1] A lavatory chain is made adjustable in length by the provision of a hollow member which can be secured to the chain 10 as by a cross pin 14, with slack spare chain accommodated inside the hollow member. Preferably, and as shown, the hollow member constitutes the chain handle 13; but in Fig. .1 (not shown) the chain has a conventional handle and the other end is attached by two cross pins to a hollow sleeve, within which a length of slack chain hangs between the pins.
