Firebars and grates; firebridges.-A fire bar for fixed or travelling grates or for firebridges is of substantially T-section with the top flange c, Fig. 1, formed with sinuous edges so as to provide sinuous air passages between adjacent bars. Inclined slots d extending from the sinuous edges to or a little short of the web are provided on each side of the bar, the slots on one side being inclined in opposite direction to those on the other side. Fig. 6 shows a link for a travelling grate and Fig. 4 a bar for a firebridge constructed as above described.
