Abstract
356,265. Firebars. KARI, A. and WADLING, W. J., Milburn House, Newcastle-on-Tyne. June 6, 1930, No. 17504. [Class 51 (i).] Furnace fire bars are o: increasing thick ness towards the rear so as to pro vide air spaces between the bars of decreasing width and, as shown in Fig. 3 the depth of the bars at their front portions AB is greater than at the rear as indicated at CD, the sections of the bar being also streamlined in a vertical direction and provided with a plain upper edge and curved lower edge of smaller width than the upper edge. Distancepieces are provided at E on the sides of the bar extending alternately to the full depth and to a part of the depth of the bar to cause the air passing longitudinally between the bars to follow a zig-zag course.
