Abstract

330,535. Hurlimann, O. March 8, 1929. Self-sustaining gear. - A pulley block self-sustaining gear comprises a supporting bracket 7 carrying on a pivot 6 a hanger 5 in which the pulley 1 is mounted. A curved extension 14 from the bracket engages both the load limb 2 of the rope and the hauling limb 3. the limb 3 engaging a roller or pin 11 on a downward extension 12 of the hanger. When the pull on the rope 3 is released the weight of the load draws the pulley sideways so that the rope is held by a projection 9 on the bracket.
