Abstract

1313214 Winding apparatus; platform elevators T HEDSTROM 9 July 1970 [21 July 1969] 33371/70 Headings B8B and B8H Each of a pair of devices for raising and lowering a scaffold platform comprises a cable L depending from a fixed structure and passing around driven and idler pulleys F, I on the platform before freely depending therefrom, and a roller H tensioning the cable as it finally leaves the pulley F. The cable passes through a shackle D on the platform, around one groove on the pulley F, around the one groove on the pulley I and back around a second groove on pulley F, after which it passes through a guide hook G on the platform. The tensioning force of the roller H is adjustable by a spring B acting on a pivoted lever C on which the roller H is mounted. The pulley F is either power or manually driven through opening E and the pulley arrangement is enclosable by a casing A.
