Abstract

Lever load-handling appliances. -In lever lifting-devices of the kind in which a lever of the first order is carried by a half-universal joint and is fitted with load-supporting means at one end and a hauling rope or chain at the other, the lever comprises a telescopic member adjustably fulcrummed on the supporting joint. In the illustrated form as applied to a vehicle, the telescopic tubular lever 8 has an adjustable sliding connection with the bracket 5 which pivots in a vertical plane and rotates in a horizontal plane about the pivot 4. The rod carries a load hook 9 at on end and a holding chain 14 at the other. A strutted bracket 1 supports the appliance on the vehicle; but it may be carried on a separate tripod stand.
