318,969. Kruckenberg, F., and Stedefeld, C. Sept. 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Tracks having a single guide-raid.-A highspeed railway vehicle propelled by an air-screw is mounted on independent wheels 17 having pneumatic tyres and adapted to run on raised flat tracks 31. Guide wheels 18 bear upon a central guide-rail 19 carried by a support 29 on adjustable bearers 30. The body 10 encloses the wheels 17 and the guide wheels 18, which latter are used for braking and starting, and are sprung laterally. An emergency brake comprises shoes 26, the upper parts of which lying above the rail 19 act as an emergency support if a wheel should break. The tracks 31 are built up of similar light sections. Alternative constructions of tracks and guide-rails are shown in Figs. 5 and 6.
