Abstract
318,561. Docking, A., and Premix Gas Plants, Ltd. May 3, 1928. Air and gas heating furnaces. -An apparatus for heating air and gases comprises a casing G containing a number of Ushaped gilled tubes D, into one limb of each of which a combustible mixture is supplied by a burner B, while the other limb is in damper-controlled communication with a stack E. The tubes are preferably arranged in superposed relation as shown with their two limbs in the same horizontal plane. The air &c. to be heated is forced through the casing by a fan, and is caused to take a sinuous path around the tubes bv baffles I. The combustion heads C of the tubes may be lined with refractory material.
